Tashina has inspired me to write a little something that’s been on my mind and oddly enough I did an impromptu speech on for my Communication class. =] Diets, being overweight, and quick fixes.
As you all know from my health/fitness section of my website I’ve been losing weight for over a year now. For those of you who want to lose weight, or are working on it presently, it’s a lifestyle change, not a quick fix. I honestly think Tashina said it best in her blog, so I suggest you read it.
It breaks my heart to see so many girls starving themselves, purging food, doing insane fasts and colon cleanses as well as abusing laxatives. I was one of those girls who once fell for fad diets, but I’ve learned from my mistakes.
Finding your happy, healthy weight is so much more than the number on the scale. I weight 132 pounds and wear a size 6 in jeans, and I fully believe this is the weight I was meant to maintain (give or take 5 pounds). I look great, I feel amazing, and I’ve opened a window of so many healthy food options and choices. I’m constantly learning more tips and tricks every day and I wanted to take the time to tell all of you guys: if you’re trying to lose weight, working on it, or thinking negatively about your body and you feel alone, I want you to know that you can e-mail or I.M me any time. I know first hand what it’s like to feel that way, but if you work through the difficult challenges you can come out on top and feeling great.
