Approximately in September of 1986 my parents got a little frisky. Now that I think about it, it was probably around their wedding anniversary. We all know what happens when parents get frisky. Nine months later, on May 2, 1987, I was brought into the world, a miracle baby, given the name Christine Marie.
I’m currently working to become a high school English teacher. I’m considering a Master’s in Special Education due to an awesome professor, and plan to get my Doctorate in English or Education and become a professor. To be able to teach high school kids that reading is fun, and to teach college kids HOW to teach is something that I can do for the rest of my life.
Music, baking, writing, and reading are some of the things I love to do. My favorite bands are Sublime and The Misfits, but I love all types of music (yup, even Country). I have an obscene collection of books and can almost always be found reading one. I love to write and have completed my first novel in the summer of 2009. Young Adult Literature publishers: HERE I COME! I’m Italian and Greek but have not a bone of cooking talent in my body. Ask me to bring a dessert and I’m your girl. I love to bake, and I love experimenting with baking. If I don’t marry someone who can cook, or eventually learn my family will be eating cupcakes, quick breads, and breakfast food for the rest of our lives.
I am extremely family oriented. I am an only child, so I am very close to each of my parents. I also have a cat named Socks, who is my sister. My family is huge, and we are the most awesome people you will ever meet.
I consider myself to be religious and was raised Roman Catholic. I have a few of my own views (birth control, gay rights, premarital sex, abortion, and capital punishment are all 110% fine by me), but I truly believe in the power of prayer and worship. I like to call myself a “chill Catholic.” Did I also mention that I’m a feminist and gun enthusiast? Not to be random, but I do think that everything would be much more interesting if we spoke in Iambic Pentameter.
Collecting keychains, makeup, tamagotchis, letter writing, and shopping are some of my other favorite things to do. I love makeup and playing with different looks, but you’ll rarely see me in full faced makeup since I’m usually too damn lazy to wash my face at night. (Big no-no!!).
The long term plan is San Francisco. I’ve been there three times, am going again when I graduate this summer, and am hoping to move there permanently once I establish myself and start making waves in the education world.
All You Need Is Love
John Lennon spoke those words and I couldn’t agree with him more. Having someone to love, to give you those butterflies in your stomach is one of the most amazing feelings and I wouldn’t give it up for the world.
Keith is my boyfriend of over 6 years. We met in middle school and made fun of each other constantly. In high school we smartened up and began dating and have been together ever since. We have had our rough times but true love conquers all and there is no doubt in my mind that I am going to marry him one day.
I truly believe that you have to be best friends as well as partners, and Keith truly is my best friend. I also am thinking that you need to hate the person before you fall in love with them, but just because that worked for Keith and I doesn’t mean you should try it at home. We’re not exactly the typical couple.
You can usually find us goofing off, watching zombie movies, people watching at the mall, and loitering in parking lots smoking cigarettes. When we’re not doing that we frequent the super classy Ludal’s and get gawked at because we’re wearing jeans. =]
