Nubian Heritage Lotion Roundup Review

I’m all about lotions that are natural and cruelty free! Thankfully, I’ve been able to find some amazing options and Nubian Heritage is one of them! They sent me the most GENEROUS care package chock full of goodies for my skin. So generous in fact that this is one of three reviews to come. I don’t know about you guys and gals out there but summer takes just a much of a toll on my skin as the winter does. So I’m always looking for a moisturizer that lasts without turning my skin into a slip and slide.

Can you get over this amazing care package???

Of their lotions, I was able to try the Lemongrass and Tea Tree Cold-pressed Shea Butter, Raw Shea Butter Lotion with Frankincense and Myrrh, and the Lavender and Shea hand cream. I loved the simple packaging and the wholesome and simple start this company had. I also like the fact that almost all of their products are offered at a very reasonable price of $20.00 or under. Their shea butter is also sourced ethically and benefits women’s co-op’s in Northern Ghana. So, the behind the scenes action is just as authentic as the products themselves. Let’s get lotioned up, shall we?

These lotions are love!

Lavender & Wildflower Hand Cream: This hand cream is thick and silky without making your hands greasy. It absorbed fast and had a light, fresh scent that…I swear…helps me sleep better at night. Another key ingredient is the Aloe Vera which helps to soothe hands and skin, especially if they are irritated from the sun or hot weather. I love using this before I go to work and after a shower in the evening. Even after washing my hands, this lotion stays on for a long time leaving my hands feeling deliciously smooth.

Raw Shea Butter Body Lotion: I loved using this Shea Butter Body Lotion. In addition to Raw Shea Butter, this lotion also contains Soy Milk, Cocoa Seed Butter, and Honeysuckle Oil. The scent of the Shea mixed in with the Frankincense and Myrrh reminds me of Christmas. I actually don’t wear perfume at all since the scent is strong enough that you don’t need anything extra. The formula is thick and a little bit goes a long way. I use a dime-sized dollop for each leg and half that amount for each arm. For me, a lotion’s “worth” is proven once I use it on my freshly shaven legs. This lotion is gentle on my skin after shaving and soaks in quickly. I love that it doesn’t sting or burn and soothes the skin.

Cold Pressed Shea Butter with Lemongrass and Tea Tree: This product has literally three ingredients which I LOVE! I tend to use this product at night since it is concentrated Shea Butter and after I shave my legs. I love how rich and luxurious it feels on my skin. This product needs a bit of love when you scoop it out of the round container. Warm it in your hands to make it pliable and spread it on your dry bits. The scent is earthy and fresh. I love this clean scent!

I love that all of these lotions are sourced ethically. Since going completely cruelty free, I like to do my research and see how the companies treat their suppliers and employees. I love that Nubian Heritage truly believes in giving back and that they started out small in Harlem (which is less than 90 minutes from where I live!) I love that women and under-served communities are put at the forefront of the company’s mission. For me, this cruelty free company is where it’s at!

  1. I know what you mean about the effects on summer being just as hard on skin as winter. I’m wearing sandals a lot at the moment so my feet are being coming so dry! And shaving everyday is destroying my legs, so I’d love to try the body lotion. Anything that doesn’t sting is a bonus!
