DIY Exfoliating Coffee Scrub

The other morning I was cleaning up my kitchen and was struck with a thought. How can I repurpose my coffee grounds? I usually use an Exfoliating Coffee Scrub from LUSH but with the shipping delays and general attempt to have less people on my porch subjected to my crazy (my delivery people are well aware of my shenanigans), I thought why not make my own? Making this Exfoliating Coffee Scrub was so damn easy and took less than 10 minutes. Even better? It’s natural, cruelty free, and my three year old helped.

1/4 c coconut oil ⁣(you could sub out almond or jojoba too)
1/4 c brown sugar⁣
3/4 c coffee grounds ⁣
5 drops Frankincense (cellular repair & all things skin goodness)⁣
5 drops Wild Orange (antioxidants & smells amazing blended with coffee)⁣
⁣
Whisk it all together in a bowl, then pour into your favorite thrifted mason jar. πŸ’― Rub it everywhere. ⁣

I’ve been using this Exfoliating Coffee Scrubas a mask at the end of the week mixed with some Bentonite Clay to aid in detox, and as a gentle exfoliant in the shower without the clay. This is amazing after shaving!

This recipe makes a decent sized mason jar and is so simple and aids in reducing some of that coffee ground waste. Happy exfoliating ya caffeine freaks.

  1. I don’t drink coffee but my hubby does! I love the smell of it but hate the taste. I might just have to give this a try it seems simple enough and he drinks enough I should have no shortage of coffee grounds lol.
