Living our world is no picnic. I get it. Free radicals, germs, and other crazy things put stress on our bodies and minds. Thankfully, selfcare is a thing and detox baths are some of the easiest ways to cleanse the system and promote relaxation.
You don’t need a crazy bathroom oasis. All you need are some candles, maybe a salt lamp, and some high quality oils and epsom salts! And possibly someone to wrangle the kids, ha!
Why detox? It’s simple. Our world is full of germs, chemicals, and more. Soaking in a hot epsom salt bath helps to boost the immune system and release those toxins in a gentle, yet effective way. Epsom salts provide the body with magnesium and can aid people of all ages. Aches, pains, and even skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis can be soothed with a hot soak!
Now let’s get on to the recipes, shall we? Here is a simple base to get you started:
1/2 c. Epsom Salts (1/4 for little ones two and older)
1/2 c. baking soda
2 tbsp Bentonite Clay
2 tbsp fractionated coconut oil or other fatty oil
10 drops of your favorite high quality essential oils
Not sure which oils to add? Certain oils have great detoxification properties and make the skin smell and feel great. You can choose from:
Lavender – soothing to skin and promotes restful sleep
Frankincense – cellular integrity
Copaiba – anti-inflammatory
Juniper Berry – detoxification and purification of lymph
Now get soaking, mama! What are some of your favorite bath products you like to add to your self care and detox routine?
