Shoe Throwing?

I couldn’t help but blog about this. I love hearing weird news stories, and thinking about the strange things that happen in our crazy, crazy world. Has anyone heard the news story about the Iraqi reporter who threw a shoe at President Bush? Apparently throwing a shoe at someone is one of the worst forms of insult. I had no idea that in other cultures show throwing was so offensive. Many are supporting the reporter, who is now in jail, and might have to serve up to two years if convicted.

Here’s the video to check out of you haven’t seen the footage. This morning I saw a replay of the incident at the gym. If nothing else, Bush does have some fast reflexes. Look how fast he ducks when the first one is thrown! While, I tend to think of shoe throwing at a form of lulz, it just goes to show you, that what might make us laugh can truly offend people in other cultures. Who knew? What do you guys think about all of this? It’s making headlines!

Oh man. I’ve been looking for a video of that… (I wanted a good laugh) Thanks for posting it!

Bush DOES have fast reflexes. I wouldn’t be able to duck has I been in his position. Two years for that? The guy didn’t even get him.

I personally have never liked Bush so I thought it was kind of humorous but another part of me is a little disturbed by it. If throwing a shoe at someone is a huge form of insult and people in other country feel our president deserve that, it makes me wonder what they think about us. As one person once said, in Europe and in the Middle East, people think Bush IS the US. That’s just sad.

Good luck teaching high school. I don’t think I would be able to do that. I don’t think I would be able to control kids that are that old. It’s hard enough with the younger ones lol. But some people are made for it. I wish you all the luck you need. Hopefully I will get to hear how it works out for you.

Haha yeah I saw that news report on my tv. That’s a little weird that throwing a shoe is such a bad thing. Kids do that all the time here when they are on the swing sets lol. I was actually a little surprised that Bush actually ducked out of the way. It would have been hilarious if he actually got hit…

I’m not going to lie, I think it’s pretty hysterical. My reflexes are not nearly as good. I definitely would have been hit by one of them, if not both!

Hahahaha! I saw that and almost had diet pepsi coming out of my nose! I’m surprised this didn’t happen sooner actually. The whole world hates him! :D And look at that man duck. For an old guy, he’s got some moves. I bet he OWNS out on the dance floor.

LOL why did the guy throw a shoe in the first place? 2 years in prison is ridic! Man it’s like Bush was in fast-forward when the first shoe was thrown!

Hahahaha i’ve seen that video a couple of times and it was so hilarious! Never in my whole life did I imagine that someone would throw a pair of shows at a president! Haha but I read somewhere that in their nation, that’s the highest form of insult when they throw shoes at someone :s
