My Week in Instagram – Summer’s Slowdown

Ready? It’s tantrum time because in less than three weeks I’m back to the grind in the classroom. Really, the structure is exactly what I crave this time of the year, but August has a bittersweetness to it. It just seems to go by so quickly no matter how much I try and savor the moments. I guess that’s life, huh?

I’m Myles and I love the car!

The week began with this handsome boy farting in our car on the way to the vet, haha. Seriously though, he’s coming along so much in terms of socialization and growth. He can sit, lay down, stand up, heel, stay, and wait. We’re refining his “polite leash walking” and working on that each day. I’ve been taking advantage of my summer off to leash train. It’s not always pretty, but it’s always getting better. AKC Canine Good Citizen here we come!

Backyard bliss.

We realized that it was AUGUST and we hadn’t just relaxed outside in our own backyard! Seriously. So, one evening Keith and I took the time to sit outside with the pup and savor the moment. We really worked on sprucing up our outdoor space this summer and the lights and signs do it for us.

Lush haul!

Lush haul!

I’ve been loving my summer beauty products I’ve been collecting and sampling. The Little Alchemist Cacao and Banana Face Glow mask is top notch! It’s cruelty free, organic, and smells like dessert! My face really felt awesome afterwards and my blackhead areas (nose creases, ugh!), felt clean and smooth. I received this sample in a Petit Vour box and it’s been one of my faves! The Lush haul was picked up when we went to see Pepper, Rebelution, and Sublime with Rome. All in all a good night of music, skincare, and palazzo pants worn by yours truly.

Red hair, don't care.

Selfie Saturday to end the week? Sure, why not! I was waiting for my Momma to pick me up so we could spend the day together and do fun girly things. I went red this summer and I’m getting it freshened up just in time for school to start in a few weeks. I don’t know WHY I didn’t go lighter sooner. Being a redhead is pretty darn awesome! Happy Sunday, loves and lads!

Aww, that’s an adorable pic of Myles! That’s great that he’s learned so much already. I also like how you decorated your backyard with lights :)

August is the worse for us because my Husband is a teacher. We so look forward to the summer and then it seems to be gone in an instant, doesn’t it?

I’m glad that things seem to be going well with your dog! My dog has come a long way but it seems like we can’t get him to do anything but sit, haha! Do you have any dog training pointers? He’s so full of energy!

I, too am preparing my pup Marley for the AKC Canine Good Citizen test, as well. Beginner classes are starting for her, and I couldn’t be more excited. I still have to work on leash training for her. She’s come a long away from not knowing how to be on a leash to being on one, and then finally this.

Myles is adorable, I’m totally seriously and you look fierce in that hair color!

I hope your first day back in the classroom goes well for you! I wish I had a backyard to relax in. That’s one thing I miss about my own apartment. The deck was a perfect place for me to sit and relax. I don’t really have that in my current home.
